THE TEXT OF THE ONLINE PETITION EMAIL IS LISTED BELOW

Dear Santa Clara County Supervisors,

I join over 200 Santa Clara County residents: I appreciate the decisive action you have taken to address the impact of COVID-19. I appreciate the need to shelter-in-place and impose social distancing guidelines. I am writing to urge you to allow the historic movie drive-in in San Jose to re-open as part of your incremental steps to re-open the local economy. It would be a shame to lose an important piece of Santa Clara County history and life. Thank you for also allowing other businesses that can maintain your guidelines to re-open.

IF APPLICABLE, YOUR PERSONAL MESSAGE WILL BE LISTED HERE.

The drive-in is located at 3630 Hillcap Avenue in San Jose. The drive-in in San Jose includes social distancing by default. Attendees enter the drive-in in their own vehicle. They watch the move from within their vehicle. The drive-in could impose additional restrictions. The restrictions could include:

1. People must stay in their vehicles at all time except to visit the restroom
2. Two persons in the restroom at a time, except an adult with a child
3. Vehicles must be parked 10 feet apart
4. Concessions are available like restaurants: Pick up only. Customers six feet apart.
5. Customers who do not follow these rules will be asked to leave

Viewing a movie at a drive-in with drive-in staff directing and monitoring attendees is likely safer than visiting a beach or grocery store.

The drive-in is a venue that would not present a health risk and which families enjoy. It would be a relief to many families currently sheltering-in-place.

Please allow the drive-in to re-open with social distancing guidelines. Please also consider joining Santa Clara County residents, from at least a six-foot distance, at the drive-in.

You may not use my contact information for any purpose other than to respond to my concern regarding the topic listed above, nor may you share my address with any other organization(s) or individual(s).
